What changed with SENEAM
Starting January 1, 2025, Servicios a la Navegación en el Espacio Aéreo Mexicano (SENEAM) is requiring additional documentation for overflight authorizations. The changes align Mexican procedures more closely with ICAO Annex 2 updates and reduce the acceptance of last-minute diplomatic clearance filings.
Key updates
- Pre-filing window extended from 24 to 72 hours for non-scheduled flights.
- Cargo manifest disclosure required for cargo and mixed-use operations.
- Insurance minimums updated to reflect the 2024 liability coverage revisions.
Operator checklist
- Submit overflight filings a minimum of 3 business days in advance where feasible.
- Keep insurance certificates updated and loaded in our ops portal.
- Coordinate with our SENEAM desk for any same-day exceptions.
Our regulatory team has already updated our templates. Operators on our permits plan don’t need to take any action — changes are handled upstream.
